Whole Grain Milling grows and processes certified organic grains and provides you with fresh, quality whole grain products direct from the farm. They grow several of the grains that they offer: Oats, Hi Lysine Corn, Buckwheat, Yellow and White Popcorn, Spelt and Soybeans. What they don't grow, they source from other growers in the midwest with the lone exception of sesame seeds.
Whole Grain Milling is located just outside of Welcome, MN. A year after certifying their farm organic in 1989, Doug and Lin Hilgendorf started the business to provide just enough processing to put their grains into a more usable form while keeping as much of the nutrition and quality in whole grains intact. Sons, Jeff and Ross Hilgendorf, joined the operation; Jeff to work in the mill and Ross to do more of the farming. Ross's brother-in-law, Curt Gwin, worked summers on the farm while going to school and now is a full-time employee.
