Since the beginning of the Co-op movement in the 70's, bulk foods have always been the backbone of what we sell at the co-op. The natural food industry was just getting going and more people were looking for foods closer to their natural state, including less packaging. We are still all about that, but the natural food industry has since grown in all areas. This growth has allowed us to fill our freezers with quality local meats, our coolers with organic and local milk and our grocery shelves with a large enough variety of quality products that we can call ourselves a natural foods grocery store.
As our globe has become smaller, allowing us access to anything from anywhere, we have realized the importance of eating closer to home. We are always on the lookout for more local products. Beyond that we try to consider distance, packaging and the behavior of companies that manufacture the products we might want to carry.

Whether it's through a lifestyle choice or because of food allergies, The Co-op Natural Foods understands that there are those who may need a different type of product. Because of this, we offer a wide selection of wheat-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and vegan products. Our sign states "Everyone welcome, since 1973," and we mean it!
